Suspected Boko Haram bombers shot by JTF (photos) 

Suspected Boko Haram bombers have been killed by JTF operatives, while attempting to gain passage into Maiduguri on Saturday, March 11. The suicide bombers who were learnt to be females were sighted and intercepted by the JTF in an attempt to gain entrance into Maiduguri through Umarari, which was about 9 kilometers to the town.

Mr Victor Isuku of the Borno police command while confirming the incident said, “on Saturday at about 20:4hrs, two suspected female suicide bombers of about 18years of age, attempted to entet Maiduguri through Umarariin Molai General Area which ia about 9 kilometers to the town. They were sighted by local vigilantes – the civilian JTF and consequently shot dead by security personels in duty at the area. The police Explosive Ordinance Disposal team was mobilized to the scene to render the unexploded improvised explosive device safe, while normalcy has been restored to area. 

Also the same day, the army rescued 211 civilians from the Boko Haram camp at Cingal Murye and Maja villages. 

11 bicycles were recovered from the fleeing terrorists and also two heavy duty truck and 18 pickup vans filled with internal displaced person’s food stuffs.
